Some call it 'Hardly Required', while others prefer 'Harassing Resource'. What are we talking about? HR = once known as 'Human Resources'. With changing times, the Human got lost somewhere and the Resources are no more accessible. We've all had our rather unpleasant experiences (99% of the time) with this species that every company hires to bring some method to madness.

We've all waited with baited breath for that one call or one email. But they just don't bother to convey the response - especially if it's negative. Here's a lowdown by some common excuses, statements, reasons whatever - used by HR professionals, and what they really mean so you are not left hoping and anticipating for that response for days and even months sometimes.

1. We'll get back to you / We'll call you for the next round
This is that one thing, which is inscribed on each and every HR textbook in college, we are sure. And we are also sure there are special classes on voice modulation and acting, when it comes to saying it. Each one of them practised repeating this one line again and again, even in their dreams. And every successful HR professional has scored a 100/100 on this one.

What it means: You hear this, and it's all over for you. They just forgot to add that 'never' before the 'get back to you'. Never ever even in your most optimistic dreams, expect a positive... sorry... any response from this person ever in your life.

Piece of advice: Move on. There are better pastures to be captured.

2. We are waiting for the top management's decision / The decision maker is not in town
Wow! What a way to shoo away a candidate.

What it means: It means there is no top management. And if there is, they don't even know you exist. This HR professional wanted to break the cliche (refer statement no 1), and came up with this one.

Piece of advice: Google the company's CEO/VP/Director's email id, and send an email to this HR person, putting all the biggies on cc. You might just get someone fired. Revenge was never this sweet.

3. The position is on hold
This one's a classic rage this season. Its origin lies in recession, and this one statement has been ruling the recruitment industry for the last couple of years. You usually get to hear this one after 10 calls to the HR department.

What it means: Forget that you even went to this company for an interview. Put on hold all the dreams you ever had to join them.

Piece of advice: Please move on. It's the classic 'The End' with a different sound.

We are sure there are a lot more innovative words of wisdom some of you would have been subjected to. Leave a comment and share yours with us.

Slum dog millionaire, a sensational movie in the Indian cinema – a stir all over the world, swapping almost all awards across the world whether it’s the Cannes Film Festival, the Golden Globe awards or much awaited for each & every Indian, the Oscar Academy awards.

Lots of appreciation for the movie including the critics (usually unusual), in all movie surveys on various TV channesl. Everyone knew the general concept of the movie, a guy from a slum managed to enter in the show ‘Who wants to be a millionaire’ and he wins the show. I also had the same perception & information.

(Note: this I’m telling happened before the Oscars).

In the continuation of all these happenings, one day - news flashed for Mr. Amitabh Bhachan’s blog regarding the film. This blog came after this film won awards at the Golden Globe film festival, in the blog Mr. Bhachan mentioned about the level of poverty and ill practices shown for India is not appreciable and there is nothing that we should be proud of the film (this info is based on the news shown on TV and the vague idea of mine ….nothing to drag me into any controversy).

Till now even after so much of publicity, I don’t know!!! nothing compelled me to see this movie. This I myself found very strange, as even if a hyped film of Vivek oberoi releases, I go to see it – no matter I condemn myself after the movie.

Further, this film finally won the Academy awards of Oscars. This became the main headlines in India, all the news papers had this news on the front page, each and every news channels were showing this big news. Now, I couldn’t refrain myself watching this movie.

A week later, I went to see this movie in a multiplex alone (I never watched a movie alone in my whole life alone). The movie started………….continued………………intermission happened……………….I remained on my seat without any movement………………and finally the movie ended.

Movie ended, lots of thoughts making strong zigzag motions – with a deep shrug and sigh of anguish I moved from my seat. No matter, this movie had a strong story line, the music was good and the acting was good – this movie was very well scripted and acted.

But….but………..but……………….what made so exceptional about this film that it won all the awards across the globe. What so extraordinary about the film that laid the stone for all the awards even at the Oscars that the films like ‘Black’ and ‘Rang De Basanti’ or ‘Taare Zameen Par’ couldn’t do. My only question, what so exceptional and extra-ordinary??

With these statements, I certainly do not mean that whatever has been shown in ‘Slum dog millionaire’ doesn’t happen in India. It certainly happened in India but this is not the things only happening in India, there are several other good things happening here but those weren’t shown in the film. Also I would like to emphasize, all those incidents’ that has been shown in the film has reduced to a lot extent, those things happened 5 to 7 years back and India has changed drastically over this period of time. If these things exist, it’s in their last phase that would defiantly come to an end very soon.

Frankly speaking, after watching this movie – the only thing I was able to think in my mind was that ‘if this is the India that has been shown in this film then I’m ashamed to be an Indian’.

This brings to my next question, after making so much of achievements all around the world; do we still have to be ashamed of ourselves??

Right from the beginning, down from ground the picture of India was taken straight into the grave yard. Is this India the whole world wants to see and appreciate and this is the reason the films like ‘Black’ and ‘Rang de Basanti’ couldn’t make to the global awards.

I think everyone in India has seen the film ‘Black’ – for anyone from outside country reading this blog, please take my suggestion and see this film at least once.

‘Black’ is an exceptional film and it could only be made once, the story (unbelievable), the music (commendable), the acting (out of the world). The moment I saw the film, my only comment was, “there is no reason that this film couldn’t win Oscar”. Later on what happened the whole world knows, does this happened because ‘Black’ didn’t contain the level of poverty and pity shown in ‘Slum dog millionaire’. Is this the reason that the film wasn’t appreciated or couldn’t win an award, although this film swept all the awards in India and perhaps if I am correct, also in the Cannes Film Festival.

Anyways, anything happens – I may appreciate the ‘Slum dog millionaire’ film but I’m certainly not proud for all the awards received for the film. I know this statement could be controversial but this is true and I also know that almost all Indian will definitely endorse my point of view.

This past weekend, I'd intended to post a new story about working for the Census but I really don't know I ended up with a poem. Here it goes:

Once in a blue moon sky
I was thinking …. thinking & thinking………………
Then I realized …..
Is there anyone who can fly…
I looked up in the sky but no one found up high…………
Am I alone there??
No net yet (my heart said)
These stars ………. are giving me silent smile …………..
Just up in this blue moon sky ……
Can anyone tell who are they??
Light ……… Shine ……… or someone who died ….
Who bothers for them ……………
Is that you, me or ………..??
I wasted many nights,
Searching for just a line (answer line)………..
And tonight …………. Again,
I’m under the blue sky ……..
Thinking ………. Thinking ……………
Is there anyone who can fly ………………??

Thought always gives a better idea to life
Thought always gives a reason to smile
Thought always changes the things are
In fact, thought changes the way we are
That’s the reason I like to be awake in night
To see things in black and white

Endless thought gives me an impression
In this fast forward world
Do anyone care about emotions
Bcoz reaching physically to a star isn’t possible,
Thought gives us the strength to reach there
And it’s because of this we have reached there.
*-*-*

This poem (hope everyone likes it) actually started with a joke. One day in the office (having nothing to do), me and my colleague ‘Geetika’, let me introduce my closest friend in office, her name is Geetika, the only thing I can say about her is that she is a friend in need as well as in deed. We had nothing to do in the office, just to break the ice of silence these words simply came out of my mouth “Once in a blue moon sky I was thinking, thinking and thinking”. As soon as I said this line, Geetika replied with “Is there anyone who can fly” and after that we both started laughing. After this we realised that this lines are quite good and could be base of a poem and thus we decided to go further and complete this poem.

In the later lines of the 1st paragraph of the poem was contributed by my friend ‘Shilpi Vats’, the 2nd para is completely mine. Thus altogether this is written by Me, Geetika and Shilpi.

How strange, although it may not be a very good attempt but we three of us made a decent effort and I think we all have more or less good enough writing skills.

Life ….never stops, in a journey of lifetime there are something to remember and something to forget. There may be instances that we always want to keep it for ourselves forever and certain instances that we want to forget as soon as we can. But have we ever realised whether we actually forget the incidents that we want to forget.

Just for the experiment if we collect both of these (mentioned above) together, later we’ll get an array of instances happened throughout the life that one would always read and cherish forever.
Thus, this blog is an effort in this direction.

The common idea for the blog is to share the thoughts across the world and a blog is considered successful if it gets most number of readers and followers. Being a beginner in the blog world I also expect that I’ll get the followers and readers and my ideas, thoughts and writing skill would be appreciated. But I don’t care if I don’t get any of these and this will not stop me in any ways in blogging.

Effort in my writing would definitely be to collect my passed life along with thoughts, ideas and vision. Thus, I’ve named it as ‘Synchronising Vision’, let see if I succeed in synchronising my vision along with world or not.

All the visitors visiting my blog for the first time then here is a message for you, “Welcome”. Definitely a promise that I can make with all of you that I would try to answer each and every comment to the best of my ability. Don’t worry this also include if anyone put a link in their comment doesn’t mean that I delete it. I’ll read all the comments, visit all the links and I would love going there and seeing what you have done, also would forward the same to the rest of my friend.

Wish me luck and success in the blog world.
